Father and Son Duo..

This past weekend I got a little footage of Kirk and Caleb "jammin" together. Caleb didn't cooperate as well as he did without the camera on him, but we got some.....Caleb on the "drums" and Kirk on the guitar. It was cute!

Caleb LOVES to hear Kirk play the guitar and is mesmerized when he plays. I hope Caleb grows up with an appreciation of music like his dad. Kirk has always wished he learned how to play the piano so maybe Caleb will play and be able to teach is dad someday :) The things we wish for....

Enjoy the short movie.....you have to hear the sound too! :)

Boys and Books...

So, it was a precious sight to me to see Kirk and Caleb reading together the other night. Our routine is that we get Caleb's PJ's on and then read books and play quietly for a while before he heads to bed.....Kirk was reading to him and it just warmed my heart to see my two boys hangin' together (not that is a rare occurrence, but it was just a mommy moment for me). I am blessed that my husband loves to spend time with his boy.
Caleb can be pretty comical while reading as well.....he LOVES to turn the pages to not only does he get pretty cranky before bed, but he will start to turn the pages WAY to fast so you can't actually read the whole page.....so, he gets about half the story (or sometimes we just make up the story). Whatever floats his boat I guess. He likes looking at the books but just in super fast mode! :) What a crazy boy!

Day to day...

Caleb is getting so much more mobile and, frankly, it scares me.....in a good way though! I still haven't baby-proofed my home (I know, I know) and I need to do it very soon!!! He is now in the "army crawl" stage and can get around pretty well.....slow but well. He LOVES to play in his exercauser so he is upright and able to stand. I just know that in a few months we will have a little boy that will be crawling all over the house! Kirk and I can't believe his is over 8 months now! Time flies. Enjoy babies when they are young! They grow way too fast.

Life is short.....ENJOY!

Recently I have been following some ups and downs of some very dear friends of ours whose mother has been diagnosed with cancer in multiple parts of her body. God has been very gracious to them and has done miracles on their behalf. We continue to pray for healing and the ultimate miracle: to have this cancer be gone before chemo has to start! We have faith that OUR GOD can make this happen! The family has been praising God through this whole ordeal and it makes me think to myself.....would I be so faithful?!?!? I would hope so, but I cannot be sure unless placed in that position! May God continue to be praised through their circumstances.

Never-the-less, it has made me think of how precious life is! It is not to be taken lightly, but it should be enjoyed to it's fullest. There is one song (I am not sure who sings it as I am so bad at keeping up with those things) on the radio right now that has some great lyrics to it.....some of the ones that has struck me have are as follows:

"Kiss all your children,
Dance with your wife,
Tell your husband you love him...EVERY NIGHT!
Make peace with God and make peace with yourself, because in the end there's no body else....

Turn up the music, turn it up loud.
Take a few chances, let it all out.
You won't regret it...looking back from where you have been.
Because it's not who you knew, it's not what you did, ITS HOW YOU LIVED!!!"

Sorry I don't know the author but aren't they great lyrics! I guess I am just trying to say, even if you aren't a mother, appreciate the time with the ones you love....your parents, your spouse, your kids, your siblings, your friends....you never know when you will live your last day and breathe your last breath! God knows the number of your days and wants you to draw near to Him. God is good!!! Through the daily struggles and pains, He reigns and He is still on the throne! Praise him with every last breath!!!

Here's a picture of Caleb after waking up from one of his naps. I enjoy being with him each day and I charish this time that I can be with him. I hope I can remember to pour love on him every day and take nothing for granted! I can never give him enough kisses!
